Summary-Act one, scene two

Paris asks Capulet if he can marry his daughter Juliet, but Capulet says she is too young. The Capulet family decide to have a party, they send out a servant with a list of names. Romeo and Benvolio come across the servant, and the servant says he can’t read so he asks Romeo and Benvolio because they look rich. He reads out the list and find that anyone can come except for the Montage family.They don’t tell the servant that they are from the Montagues, and Benvolio sees that it would be a good idea to go along and find other girls not as beautiful as Rosaline.

Summary-Act one, scene one

Sampson and Gregory from the Capulet house begin to fight with the Montagues. The prince turns up and attempts to keep the peace and stops the fight, he threatens that if he disturbs anyone from the town again he will kill them.”If ever you disturb our streets again,Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace.”

After the fight has ended and the prince has left, Romeo enters the scene with Benvolio and Benvolio asks Romeo what’s wrong with him and Romeo says he loves a girl who doesn’t love him back.
